OurVision |
|
AbundaTrade.com believes in smart consumerism. Wasteful consumerism and global warming have become increasingly substantial concerns in today's society. We want stuff, and not just any stuff; we want the newest and the
coolest, and we spend millions of dollars and throw out tons of perfectly good stuff in order to have it. It is wasteful spending that hurts our pockets and wasteful
manufacturing and trashing that hurts our planet.
Luckily, not all consumerism is wasteful. At AbundaTrade.com, smart consumerism means saving your money, putting your unwanted stuff back into
the system rather than into a landfill, and getting the newest, coolest stuff that you want. When you are a smart consumer, you create a win/win scenario for you
and the environment.
In the past two years we have repaired and re-circulated over 50 tons of CDs and DVDs that would otherwise be wasting away in closets, garages or landfills. According to the Worldwatch Institute, about 45 tons of used CDs become waste each month. We are working every day to dramatically impact this growing waste.
At AbundaTrade.com, we want to provide a venue where you, the consumer with a perfectly good but rarely used CD and DVD collection sitting in your closet who would rather have a new flat-screen TV,
can choose to Trade. By circulating your stuff back into the system, you are reducing your waste and providing stuff for other consumers that
does not need to be manufactured. Not only are you getting the stuff you want, but you're saving your money and maybe even your planet.
In Our Vision, the Trade is not only a great deal for you, it is an opportunity for us to work together as smart and mindful consumers to truly make
the world a better place.

Company History |
 |
AbundaTrade.com is the modernization and revitalization of Millennium Music, a once stubbornly successful independent music retailer.
The AbundaTrade.com, FeedYourPlayer.com and Millennium Music concepts are based out of Charleston, South Carolina.
Millennium Music's foundation can be traced back 20 years, at the dawn of CD technology. At this time, the music retailer was called CD Superstore.
CD Superstore was sold to Borders Books and Millennium Music was spawned from the CD Superstore crew.
Millennium Music arrived in Charleston, South Carolina, 15 years ago where it progressively upgraded to larger stores and multiple franchises. The
independent music store was named Best Place to Buy New CDs by the Charleston City Paper for 11 consecutive years (including 2008), and
within the past few years also won Best Place to Buy Used CDs and Best CD Store Staff. A staple of the local cultural scene, it's headquarters were
located in 14,000 square feet of prime retail space in the heart of downtown Charleston.
FeedYourPlayer.com was launched in January 2006, and with the popularity of its CD trade for new iPods and electronics, has been growing ever since. In
June 2008, the company closed down its brick-and-mortar retail store to focus solely on the online venture. As of September 2008, the name has been changed to
AbundaTrade.com as a better reflection of the company's growing concept. If you are curious to
learn more about the business (or just want to get a little re-assurance before you send in your CDs), please feel free to send a message to our
Customer Service Center.
